Ependion’s sustainability work should be an integrated and natural part of its operations, and its work should promote profitable and sustainable development.
Sustainability framework
Our focus areas
Ependion identifies and drives its sustainability work through the three focus areas of ESG, which are also the foundation of CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive). The focus areas help prioritize efforts, set relevant goals, and ensure that sustainability is an integrated part of the group's operations. The framework serves as a guide in strategic development.

Double Materiality Analysis
Ependion has conducted a double materiality analysis in accordance with CSRD and ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards). More about this process and how the company handles the most significant sustainability issues, including impacts, risks, and opportunities, is described in the group's annual report. The most significant sustainability issues for the Ependion group are:
Double Materiality
- Climate change
- Responsible business
Consequential Materiality
- Circular economy
- Pollution
- Own workforce
- Workers in the value chain
Vision
Strategy
Conducting sustainability work responsibly is essential to the company’s short and long-term success, while focusing on profitability and long-term shareholder value. Actions should feature high skills levels, good business morals and accountability.
Focus areas
Ependion conducts its sustainability work through three focus areas: Environmental sustainability, Social sustainability, and Governance.
Standpoint on climate change and planetary boundaries
Ependion accepts the scientific evidence that human activity presents major risks for future generations. Accordingly, to make its contribution to the global agenda, Ependion will control and clarify goals for operations consistent with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement. Ependion will future-proof its product and service portfolio by making its manufacturing energy efficient, adopting a life cycle perspective in investments, taking responsibility for natural resources and biological diversity, increasing the share of renewable energy, and adapting its operations to climate change. Ependion will engage in customers’ and regulators’ climate plans and policies.
